What's New for the 2023 Subaru Outback?

If you are actively searching for a crossover with the functionality necessary to keep up with your active lifestyle, you do not need to look beyond the popular Subaru Outback. This crossover SUV has been living up to drivers’ expectations throughout Charlottesville and beyond for years. It broke into its sixth generation in 2020 and has continued to be updated with thoughtful improvements since that time. Are you wondering what improvements you will find in the 2023 Outback?

When you compare the 2022 Outback to the updated 2023 version, you will find minor design changes throughout the exterior. The latest model year has overall athletic styling with thick body molding and elevated ground clearance, but some of its finer features have been tweaked. For 2023, the Outback has a rounded nose with a branded grille and LED-illuminated headlights. With a molded bumper and smart definition through the tapered hood, the Outback makes a great first impression. Exterior features that are included with some of the 2023 Outback’s trim levels are a roof rack, all-terrain tires, LED foglights, up to 18-inch wheels, automatic headlamps, power-folding, and heated side mirrors, flared fenders and a sunroof.

You will also be pleased to find a few updates to the interior and safety features in the Outback. The safety suite for the Touring trim level now includes an enhanced collision mitigation system. In addition, the infotainment system now comes with wireless smartphone integration. This system is associated with stacked, 7-inch screens for the base trim level and an 11.6-inch screen for higher trim levels. The base trim level also has an auto climate control system, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, forward collision mitigation, and more. By sliding behind the wheel of a higher trim level, you can take advantage of heated seats, a rear cross-traffic alert, an automatic dual-zone climate control system, a hands-free liftgate, a blind-spot monitor, and an integrated navigation system.

The great performance capabilities of the Outback are unchanged between the 2022 and 2023 model years. If you opt for one of the lower trim levels, your Outback will draw 182 horsepower from a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder system with an auto continuously variable transmission. Higher trims receive 260 horsepower from a four-cylinder, 2.4-liter engine. Hill descent control and all-wheel drive are offered across the board. The top trims offer a lifted suspension, more driving modes, an enhanced AWD system, and a front skid plate.
