The 2020 Subaru Impreza 5 door and the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek to buyers may look like they are both very different cars, but they are a bit similar since they both share some of the Subaru DNA. They are both equipped with a famously reliable and smooth BOXER engine, similar interior space and layout, and even some of the same features. If you are in the market and looking forward to driving home in an affordable Subaru hatchback, both of these cars might be a good fit for you.


Both cars provide drivers with similar performance. On the road, they both use the 2-liter BOXER engine that can make 152 hp; both cars can send the power to all four wheels using Symmetrical All wheel drive. The 2020 Subaru Impreza has better mileage with up to 36 MPG, while the Crosstrek has a mileage of up to 33 MPG. If you want to drive off-road, the Crosstrek is equipped in different ways that the Impreza is not. The Crosstrek has active torque, has standard, and offers X- MODE and Hill Descent Control. X - MODE and Hill Descent Control is not available in the Subaru Impreza 5 door, while Active Torque Control is available in the Impreza 5 door Sport.


The Subaru Impreza 5 door inspired the Crosstrek design. Though this does not mean both look very similar. The 2020 Subaru Crosstrek has been given a suspension lift. The Crosstrek offers up to 8.7 inches of ground clearance. It gets a rugged appearance from its black body cladding that also gives it superior durability for driving on gravel roads and rural paths. The Crosstrek also has standard alloy wheels that offer exceptional toughness and sharper look and functional roof rails. In comparison, the Impreza has standard street suspension and does not have any cladding. As an upgrade, buyers can have a roof rack.


Both models have hands free Bluetooth connectivity and an HD radio with premium audio as standard. The high-quality system and the Livestream internet access will allow you to enjoy your favorite podcasts, radio station, and music. The Crosstrek has voice-activated GPS, satellite radio, 6.1" screen, and Aha infotainment. Other features standard in both cars includes a rear vision camera.
