Serving Charlottesville, VA

Now that you are preparing to upgrade to a new crossover SUV, you want to find the right vehicle for your active lifestyle. Both the Subaru Crosstrek and the Honda HR-V are subcompact crossover SUVs designed to deliver functionality and value to their drivers. Despite being priced comparably, the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek and the 2021 HR-V are dramatically different in essential areas.

An initial review of the Crosstrek’s façade to the HR-V’s exterior reveals some of their many differences. The Crosstrek has an aerodynamic profile with aggressive accents and thick body molding throughout. The large fog lamps, stretched headlamps and raised roof rails elevate the Crosstrek’s athletic design. On the other hand, the HR-V has a taller stance with a body shape that hints at hatchback styling. The grille is mostly comprised of a thick bar that connects the headlights. Thin body molding and a roof spoiler are standard on all trims.

Like the Crosstrek’s exterior, the interior is both modern and functional. The rear folding seats and the heated front seats are available in several cloth and leather material colors with accent stitching. The driver can appreciate a digital instrumentation panel and a well-designed center stack. The stack angles enhance the spaciousness of the front row. Smart device integration, remote engine start, and a Harman Kardon audio system are a few of the Crosstrek’s features. On the other hand, the Honda HR-V has a modest display screen with several areas of molded definition through the stack and console. A rear camera, cloth seats, and Bluetooth streaming audio are standard at lower trim levels.

The 2021 Crosstrek is offered with two gas engines and a hybrid-electric variant, and all are outfitted with symmetrical all-wheel drive. The first two powertrains are a 152-horsepower, 2.0-liter engine, and a 182-horsepower, 2.5-liter engine. The Honda HR-V has one powertrain available for 2021, and this is an I-4 gas engine that generates 141 horsepower.
