At Umansky Subaru, our sales associates are always happy to help our customers pick out a vehicle that they will appreciate for years to come. When you visit our dealership soon, you will notice that we have a superb selection of Outback wagons in stock. Before making your selection, however, you may want to get to know more about the 2021 and 2022 versions. While these models are included in the fourth generation that debuted in 2020, they have a few standout differences that give them individualized appeal.

Performance

The 2021 and 2022 Outback wagons are available with the same two powertrains. The lower-level trims have a 182-horsepower, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. The XT trim level for both model years has a 260-horsepower, turbocharged 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine. Notably, the 2022 Outback is now available with the Wilderness variant. This variation is designed for more rugged driving conditions. It has the same turbocharged engine as you will find in the XT trim level. It also has 9.5 inches of ground clearance and thicker molding from front to rear for an added boost of the functionality on the road.

Appearance

With the exception of the exterior enhancements on the Wilderness trim level, the 2021 and 2022 Outback wagons are identical. There are a few trim-specific differences, but all of the trims for both years have power-adjusting side mirrors, an H-shaped LED light ribbon, foglamps, raised roof rails, and a great mix of other features that you will love.

Features

The all-new Wilderness trim level adds functional features like all-weather floor mats and water-repellant StarTex upholstery to the interior. It also is the only trim level to have copper-colored accent stitching. From 2021 to 2022, there are no other differences between the trim levels. Most trim levels come with USB ports, assistive EyeSight safety features, heated seats, smart device integration, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and other equipment.
